Boone High School Parent, Teacher, Students Association consist of like minded individuals  whose purpose is to improve the overall welfare of youth in home, school and the community through academic enhancements, health and safety support,  parent participation, welcoming venues and recognition of achievement.  Boone PTSA members are an integral part of the success of Boone High School.  This year we total 871 memberships.

Programs and Committee:

School Newsletter:  PTSA puts out the “Smoke Signals” 5 times a year to all families of Boone students.
Teacher/Staff Appreciation: works hard to show the teachers and staff that we recognize their hard work on behalf of the students.  We have a lavish Welcome Back breakfast, monthly breakfast buffet, holiday celebrations and special creative ideas to thank the teachers.
Open House:  PTSA hosts the annual Open House each September to give parents and caregivers a chance to meet their kid’s teachers, visit the campus, and check out clubs and organizations.  The event begins with a short program in the gymnasium, presented by students, the Principal, the PTSA President and the “Pass-the-Bucket” Fundraiser.
Membership: Every year runs a membership drive to increase our membership to include as many parents, caregivers, relatives, students and the business community.  Membership funds help the many Boone PTSA programs. A portion goes to support the county, state and national PTA.
Hospitality: Various times, throughout the year, this committee arranges for receptions or other events in which food and/or beverages are served to a gathering of people.  They decide on what to provide, purchase and prepare, decorate, set up, serve and clean-up. 
Teacher Wish List: Solicits and gathers requests from teachers for items needed to supplement academics, supplies and materials. Meets with Principal for distribution of the funds from membership dues designated for Teacher Wish list.
Grade Activities: Every grade level has two to three PTSA co-chairs to help in that grade level and support the class teacher sponsor.
9th grade: BBQ, Polyester Paradise, Kiss the Pig’s counting of donations
10th grade: Honors Breakfast, Baccalaureate
11th grade: Homecoming, Prom
12th grade: Blood Drive, Senior Breakfast, Senior Lunch, Project Graduation, Graduation
Misc:  Supports and helps the SAVE program,  ADDitions, Clinic,  PTSA has been called upon to help with bereavement.  Raises funds for school improvement projects.
