Purpose and Philosophy
The Media Center staff is prepared to support the curriculum of Boone High School. There are a variety of formats available: books, magazines, pamphlets, electronic sources and audio-visual materials.
The primary objective of the Boone High School Library Media center is to enrich and support the educational program of Boone High School. It is the responsibility of Boone High School Library Media Center to provide a wide range of materials on different levels of difficulty, with diversity of appeal, and representing different points of view.
Hours
For faculty and staff: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
For students: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday - Friday
Expectations
Teachers must arrive with their class, REMAIN with the students and be responsible for maintaining discipline.
Students should remain on-task and be responsible for cleaning their work area (putting trash in basket, pushing chairs in, returning books to the cart)
Teachers and students are not permitted to eat or drink while in the Media Center.
Scheduling
To bring your class in, sign up on the scheduling sheet. You will receive a reminder in your mailbox.
Due to time restrictions, you are limited to two days per week.
Kindly inform us if you will not be using your scheduled time…another teacher may be able to use it.
Substitutes may NOT bring classes to the Media Center, nor may they write passes.
Student Visits
Students do not need a pass before or after school hours.
Lunch tickets
During school hours, each student will have his/her own yellow “library pass” for admittance.
Media staff will mark the pass.
There is a limit of 3 students per teacher per period.
Students who misbehave will be sent back to class and you will be notified of the behavior via e-mail or a phone call.
A “LUNCH time ticket” policy is in effect! Students must come to the Media Center before school or between 1st & 2nd or 2nd & 3rd period (or 3rd & 4th for 2nd lunch) to get a lunch ticket. This allows us to assist those classes already in session in the Media Center and help lunch students individually.
